County Board Held

The first county board of 2008 was held last night in the Erigal hotel in Cootehill. Well attended by leaders from around the county, the meeting got through a significant amount of business. The main focus was the discussion of the new programme. It was generally felt that the programme was excellent but unfinished. It was also felt that not enough people had managed to read the entire programme and as such, it was agreed not to take a county position on the matter at this time.

Beavers

Beaver Scouts is the junior section of Scouting Ireland and is for boys and girls aged six to eight years of age. Beavers usually meet weekly in the local Scout Den and program centres on games, arts and crafts and other activities designed to stimulate the imagination and encourage members to have lots of fun whilst making lots of new friends.

Cubs

Cub Scouts is for boys and girls aged from eight to about eleven and it's a great way to make loads of new friends and have a whole lotta fun too!

Cubs usually meet once a week in the local scout den but that?s only half the story! About once a month, the pack goes hiking, swimming, camping, to the cinema or wherever you wanna go! That the cool thing about Cubs, you help decide what the pack does and when now where else will you get that kinda input!

Scouts

Scouting Ireland is a wonderful organisation; Scouts is just one part of that organisation, (the part that puts the 'won' in wonderful!!) Young people from the ages eleven to sixteen can join Scouts. There are meetings held once a week and trips away every little while. So its all fUn FuN fUn really! There are Many things you can do in Scouts that you might never get to do outside Scouts. Such as rock climbing, caving, absailing, boating ect. Scouts is also a great way to make new friends and bOOst your social skills! So why not join today???? Well? Why not?? Or you know if your busy today tomorrow........But REMEMBER! The kettle is ALWAYS hot! Also the grass is always greener on the otherside....not that that has anything to do with anything.....but you know what they say: "Old people are just young people, with nothing added but years". So join Scouts and join the ADVENTURE!!!!
